The New York governor, state residents, threatened to back away from the gradual reopening plan, after mass rallies had been observed in front of New York City pubs, in violation of the guidelines to shut down the emerging corona virus.
Governor Andrew Como announced that his office had received 25,000 complaints about companies that violated the closure directives after New Yorkers took to the streets to enjoy the springtime weather.
France 24 quoted a tweet by "several breaches of the rules of social separation, street parties, cafes and bars that ignore the laws."
Como warned the local authorities to "apply the law, otherwise the state will act."
